A house in Spain … who would have thought?

In 2013 we encountered Moraira through acquaintances. We sometimes expressed that it would be nice to have a house in a sunny country, but we felt that it would not be feasible. A family with four children, all of whom have their own interests, requires a lot when searching for the ideal place. But when we met Moraira, we were more than excited.

A beautiful place, subtropical climate, not too rich in discos, no drunk young in the streets, but simply honest fun. Many cafes, nice restaurants, fine shopping and several beaches that weren’t to massive and busy.

When we were driving around the area, looking for a new home, there was lots to see and lots to buy. However, finding the right place was a big search. We found the ideal place in Casa Morena, in the El Portet area. A house with swimming pool, where all the maintenance was in the hands of the owners association. A house consisting out of two floors, giving us the opportunity to keep one floor for ourselves, and the other floor to rent out. This also gave us the possibility to have the whole house for ourselves, when the whole family would come over. This has been an ideal choice.

Even more ideal was the area. Calm, and only a 5 minute walk to the nearest supermarket, restaurants, sea and beach. A 15 minute walk will bring you to the Centre of Moraira and its cozy Centre with harbor. In short: you don’t need a driving license to have everything within hand reach.

The purchase of Casa Morena became a fact. The children were enthusiastic. Possibilities to diving and canoeing. For our oldest daughter there was a horse riding school, and for the youngest there was a market and a fair. For the girls there is the Ondarra shopping mall and the nightlife in Javea and Benidorm. For the parents there was rest and the coziness with long walks. Absolutely perfect!

New round, new opportunities.

When in the fall of 2014 the opportunity of buying an apartment in the centre of Moraira arose, we couldn’t resist to take a look. We found an apartment with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a very large balcony. Right in the centre of Moraira, and an arm’s length away from the beach. An ideal place for our parents to stay occasionally. With this knowledge, the purchase of the apartment (previously owned by other Dutch people) became a reality.

For us, Moraira is a cozy base for holidays and weekend off. A place to unwind. We hope that our tenants will have the same experience as us.
